Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and analytical Sr. Data Base Analyst to join our Financial Services team in Cypress, CA. The Sr. Data Base Analyst will play a key role in managing and extracting insights from our data infrastructure. They will be responsible for building and maintaining ETL processes, administering and monitoring automated systems, performing user administration tasks, and writing complex SQL queries to fulfill data requests. They will be a crucial part of our efforts to leverage data as a strategic asset and drive informed decision-making across the organization. This role requires a strong technical background, strategic vision, and leadership capabilities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources including files, Oracle database tables, and APIs into AWS and Snowflake.
  • Administer and monitor automated data loading/ETL scripts (SAS/Informatica Cloud (IICS)) used for data analysis and reporting. Includes debugging/troubleshooting and validation/detail monitoring to make sure data is accurate and up to date.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from Snowflake for ad-hoc requests and reporting needs. Translate business requirements into relevant and actionable data insights.
  • Design, maintain and secure the cloud environment on AWS using services such as EC2, VPC, Lambda Functions, IAM policies and roles and other services as needed.
  • Utilize terraform and terragrunt to automate infrastructure provisioning and management on AWS, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Manage and maintain version control for data engineering projects using GitHub, including repository setup, branch management, and pull request reviews.
  • Work cohesively with all internal stakeholders to provide robust and accurate data in a timely manner to enable data driven analyst and insights.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, database management, and cloud platforms.
  • Document data infrastructure and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data quality and security standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Analyst or similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like c#, python, .net, JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries (e.g., SnowSQL, Oracle SQL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda) and Snowflake.
  • Experience with Informatica cloud Data integration and mass ingestion.
  • Experience with Github for version control.
  • Experience in consumer lending and financial analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to lead and take initiative for improving the existing processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skill is required
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with migrations from on prem databases to Cloud databases is a plus

Pay:

$85,400 to $150,310

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha’s Total Reward program; our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
