Apex Systems is currently hiring for Design Engineers to support our Utility clients team in the Metro Atlanta area. The Design Engineer will assist in the planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution infrastructure projects. The right candidate must be a self-starter, excellent communicator, critical thinker and able to make sound decisions.

As our Engineer in the design group, a typical day might include:
- Working on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments
- Performing assignments involving the design of components or functionality of pipeline products
- Involved in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components involving maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Performing system balances to determine the best overall solution to solve system issues or identify system low points and methods to best solve them.
- Provide oversight and support for construction activities

What candidate will need to qualify for this position:
- BA/BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or General)
- 1-3 years of progressive Engineering experience
Or
Equivalent academic education and experience
Certifications/Licenses:
Preferred: Engineer in Training (E.I.T.)

- Computer Assisted Design/Geographic Information System - basic proficiency
- MS Office - advanced proficiency
- CAD/GIS - intermediate proficiency
