Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contract Talent Acquisition Consultant to drive full-cycle recruitment across our student housing, conventional multifamily, and build-to-rent (BTR) portfolios. This role will focus on both full-time and part-time, on-site property hiring while collaborating closely with hiring managers and Talent leadership to build scalable, best-in-class recruiting strategies.
This is a high-impact, high-expectation role suited for someone with a strong background in real estate/property management recruiting who can hit the ground running and elevate our hiring efforts across the board. While this is currently scoped as a contract role through the end of 2025, there is strong potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.
What You Will Do
- Conduct full-cycle recruiting for community-based roles across student housing, conventional, and BTR properties — including Community Assistants, Leasing Agents, Maintenance Technicians, and operational leadership.
- Partner with hiring managers to build and refine job descriptions aligned with role requirements, business objectives, and candidate profiles.
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract active, passive, and diverse talent using job boards, social media, direct outreach, employee referrals, campus partnerships, job fairs, and community-based outreach.
- Deliver a high-quality, inclusive candidate experience that reflects our culture and values.
- Track applicant flow and report on funnel health, pipeline trends, and time-to-fill metrics to continuously refine recruiting strategy.
- Provide coaching and partnership to field leaders on hiring best practices and behavioral-based interviewing.
- Identify when the use of external search support is appropriate and collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager on vendor selection.
- Collaborate with the Talent Management team to evaluate and enhance recruiting processes and systems for long-term scalability and efficiency.
- Leverage iCIMS for applicant tracking and Paycom HRIS to support onboarding workflows and ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor and analyze ATS data to identify performance trends and propose process improvements.
- Stay up to date on compliance requirements to ensure all hiring practices adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with hiring for corporate positions if needed, particularly in areas such as accounting, finance, IT, acquisitions, and development.
- Pitch and promote Core’s Career Development Plan (CDP) to leaders and candidates where appropriate to drive internal mobility and retention.
- Support diversity hiring goals by evaluating sourcing effectiveness and recommending strategies that broaden candidate outreach.
- Participate in Talent team projects or initiatives outside your core responsibilities — we’re a collaborative team and value the "all hands on deck" mentality.
Ideally, you'll have
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong emphasis on real estate, property management, or student housing roles across multiple geographies.
- Demonstrated success supporting high-volume hiring in fast-paced environments, with the ability to manage both field-based hourly roles and salaried operational leadership searches.
- Proven experience recruiting for a wide range of roles, from seasonal and part-time hires to on-site leadership and property management positions.
- Deep understanding of local market dynamics, seasonal hiring cycles, and the ability to tailor sourcing strategies accordingly.
- A strong working knowledge of talent acquisition compliance standards (federal, state, and local), including EEO guidelines, fair hiring practices, and documentation requirements.
- A commitment to diversity hiring and experience implementing inclusive sourcing strategies that expand talent pipelines and reduce bias.
- High proficiency using modern applicant tracking systems (preferably iCIMS) and working knowledge of HRIS platforms like Paycom for downstream process alignment.
- Data fluency — comfortable building and interpreting funnel metrics, time-to-fill KPIs, and sourcing effectiveness reports to guide decision-making.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering cross-functionally with hiring managers, HR business partners, and senior leaders to align on hiring needs and expectations.
- Ability to coach hiring managers on interviewing techniques, candidate engagement, and offer strategies that align with talent market realities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to represent the company’s brand with polish and professionalism in candidate outreach and stakeholder communication.
- A strong sense of accountability, follow-through, and ability to thrive independently without heavy oversight.
You'll crush it if you have experience with
- Experience recruiting in student housing, multifamily, BTR, or adjacent real estate sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for talent acquisition.
- Familiarity with systems and software such as Paycom, Happy Fox, DocuSign, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and Canva.
- A team-oriented mindset and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
