Report to: Business Manager

General Job Summary:

This is a full-time position located at the Administration Building in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to review, monitor, and update grant transactions, submit required reports, prepare budget requests, and assist with other duties in the Business Office including non-grant activities.

Constant

(67-100%)

  1. Review and update monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reporting and analysis of grant transactions.
  2. Assist with Iowa 260E Training receipts and disbursements.
  3. Assist in completing all grant reporting submissions to private, state, and federal grantors.

Frequent

(34-66%)

  1. Assist with non-grant restricted fund accounts and cost centers.
  2. Assist with employee personnel purchasing credit card review processes.
  3. Prepare budgeting requests for grant applications as requested.


Occasional

(10-33%)

  1. Assist in various general office duties in the Campus Offices; including but not limited to answering the telephone, assisting students and staff, and substitute in the absence of co-workers.
  2. Perform reconciliation tasks for general ledger accounts and bank accounts.
  3. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Represent the college in a positive, professional manner with prospective, former and current students, and to staff and community.
  2. Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with students and other staff while providing positive customer service.
  3. Knowledge of and ability to use and format Microsoft Office and various computer software for generating reports and monitoring accounts.
  4. Thorough knowledge of office procedures, telephone etiquette, and basic office equipment, as well as correct English usage, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
  5. Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions or communication.
  6. Ability to efficiently perform tasks in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  7. Ability to assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise good judgement when making decisions.
  8. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Special Demands:

Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying, occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing and viewing various types of close visual work and repetitive motion constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle.

Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate degree in accounting or in a related area is required. A Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred. Strong bookkeeping skills, including the ability to analyze general ledger and prepare updated budget reports as needed. Prior experience in a business setting is desired.

Salary: $19.94 per hour
