Principal Associate, Front End Design Systems

This is a Hybrid position located in Plano, TX. Relocation to Plano, TX is required if you're not located in the Dallas, TX area.

At our core, we are reimagining the digital landscape for our customers. We build intuitive, powerful, and elegant digital products that millions of people rely on. To do this, we need engineers who are passionate about the craft of frontend development and dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences.

We are seeking a Principal Frontend Associate to be a key individual contributor on our team. In this role, you won't just be writing code; you'll be a crucial part of building the foundational, reusable components that our product engineering teams use to build features faster, more consistently, and with a higher standard of quality. You are a product-minded engineer who obsesses over details, thrives on complex technical challenges, and elevates the work of those around you.

What You'll Do

  • Build with Excellence: As a hands-on individual contributor, you will write clean, scalable, and highly performant code for our core component libraries and design system tooling.

  • Collaborate to Innovate: Partner closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate complex UI/UX designs and business requirements into robust, reusable, and well-tested technical solutions.

  • Uphold Quality and Consistency: Drive engineering excellence by building comprehensive automated tests, participating in detailed code reviews, and ensuring our components are resilient, efficient, and pixel-perfect.

  • Champion Accessibility: Act as a passionate advocate for inclusive design, ensuring all components and experiences meet and exceed enterprise accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA).

  • Mentor and Influence: Elevate the team's technical abilities by mentoring other engineers, sharing your knowledge, and promoting modern engineering best practices.

  • Drive Adoption: Help product teams successfully integrate our design system, gather feedback to guide our roadmap, and report on the impact of your work.

What We're Looking For

  • A skilled practitioner who is passionate about the craft of software development and building high-quality user interfaces.

  • An excellent collaborator and communicator who can work effectively across disciplines to turn ideas into reality.

  • Someone who is impact-driven and measures their success by the quality of their work and the value it provides to other engineers and our customers.

  • A detail-oriented problem-solver who can design and implement elegant solutions to complex frontend challenges.

  • An understanding and application of AI technologies, strategies and solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional frontend development experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with modern frontend technologies, including TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and Node.js.

  • 2+ years of experience with modern web frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.

  • Strong proficiency in CSS for building responsive layouts and scalable component styles.

  • Demonstrated experience translating complex designs and requirements into modular, reusable components.

  • A solid understanding of semantic HTML and web accessibility standards (WCAG).

  • Experience with frontend build tools, such as webpack, Vite, or Rollup.

  • Familiarity with consuming HTTP-based APIs (REST, GraphQL).

  • Experience working in an Agile or Kanban software development environment.

  • 1+ year of experience building or making significant contributions to a design system.

  • Experience with a cloud computing provider (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

  • Experience improving web performance by analyzing bundle size, optimizing assets, or improving load times.

  • Familiarity with native mobile development environments (e.g., Swift, Kotlin).
