





Fleet Turbine Services Project Manager
The Fleet Turbine Services (FTS) organization at Southern Nuclear is looking for a highly motivated, self-directing, individual to serve as the Site Turbine Services Project Manager. While this position will be based at Plant Farley, this position will support the fleet with planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of Turbine-Generator work during Refueling Outages, directing a team of employees/vendors/contractors responsible for all outage related activities. Other duties will include maintaining budgets and schedules, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring all deadlines for outages are met. The successful candidate will put safety first in all activities, drive continuous process improvement and performance of the team, and promote and strive for excellence.
Turbine Services is a Fleet organization; travel in support of outages, training, and benchmarking is required (~25%). 2-3 Outages per year are typical. This position will report to the Farley Site Turbine Supervisor.
Summary of Position Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring outage activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and work order instructions.
- Demonstrating ownership of business and management goals, and leading team alignment achieve those goals.
- Participating and interacting with the outage workforce to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently and effectively.
- Observing outage staff to provide intervention and coaching to reinforce Safety, expectations, and positive behaviors.
- Identifying and implementing best practices and initiatives.
- Participating in benchmark and assessment activities as needed
- Evaluating potential problems and technical issues and development of solutions
- Managing outage-related documentation and logs
- Communicating with vendors and contractors to identify and define outage requirements, scope and objectives
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- BS Engineering Degree is preferred
Job Experience:
- Two years’ Turbine/Generator Experience is required
- One year of commercial or Navy nuclear experience preferred
- Supervisory/leadership experience strongly preferred
- Previous work planning experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously
- Must have strong written, oral, and presentation skills
- Must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and NRC requirements and be familiar with plant design and function
- Understanding of union contracts preferred
- Working knowledge of computer software programs supporting assigned areas: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, IDDEAL, etc.
- Experience with Maximo and Primavera (P6) is a plus
