The Global Talent Partner is a highly impactful role that will design and deliver talent strategies that fuel business growth, strengthen leadership pipelines, and elevate organizational capability. This highly influential role is responsible for shaping and driving a global talent agenda in partnership with senior leaders. You will play a critical role in deepening leadership bench strength, building succession for pivotal roles, and deploying forward-looking talent solutions that position the organization for future success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought leader to senior executives and HR leaders on talent strategies and priorities.

  • Lead the design and implementation of talent solutions across Talent Management, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Internal Mobility, Coaching, and Culture/Change Leadership.

  • Guide talent reviews and succession planning/development to identify and advance top talent, strengthen succession pipelines for critical roles, and ensure readiness of future leaders.

  • Accelerate the growth of high-potential and future-ready leaders through targeted development plans and succession strategies that minimize disruption and enable smooth leadership transitions.

  • Partner with business and HR leaders to identify and solve organizational capability gaps and structural challenges that impact performance, engagement, and culture.

  • Build and implement capability-building plans, structural designs, and change management strategies aligned to business transformation, strategic growth objectives, and business strategies.

  • Combine big-picture strategic thinking while also conducting detailed analysis, translating data into insights, and producing high-quality materials such as planning documents, presentations, decks, and leadership communications.

  • Drive adoption of talent strategies through executive alignment, stakeholder engagement, and measurable outcomes.

  • Leverage internal and external networks to introduce innovative, high-impact talent solutions that solve business challenges and support transformation.

  • Measure the effectiveness and business impact of development initiatives to continuously improve outcomes and inform strategic decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, organizational development, or HR strategy within a large, matrixed, and global organization.

  • Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-wide talent strategies that drive business strategy, build leadership pipeline depth, enable business transformation, and drive measurable impact that positions Ameriprise for the future.

  • Strong executive presence and consulting skills-able to influence, advise, and partner effectively with C-suite leaders and senior HR stakeholders.

  • Skilled at developing authentic relationships that enable honest dialogue, aligned decision-making, and sustained partnerships. Invests in building credibility, trust, and shared understanding to influence outcomes over time.

  • Able to challenge the status quo and bring fresh, forward-thinking perspectives while respecting the legacy, culture, and institutional knowledge that had made the organization successful to date.

  • Deep expertise in multiple HR disciplines, including:

    • Performance Management

    • Succession Planning & Talent Reviews

    • Leadership Development & Career Pathing

    • Organizational Design & Effectiveness

    • Learning & Development

    • Talent Mobility, Coaching, and Change Management

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels. Able and willing to analyze data, build compelling narratives, and create impactful documents, presentations, plans, and high-impact materials.

  • Strong change leadership and facilitation capabilities. Able to drive enterprise adoption of talent solutions and accelerate culture and capability shifts.

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of ambiguity, influencing across a range of stakeholders, functions, and geographies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, compelling content across formats-from planning documents to presentations.

  • Combines content development skills with strong command of PowerPoint, Word, and similar tools to produce impactful, high-quality decks, presentations, materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a financial services or similarly regulated, client-centric industry.

  • Leadership development, HR, Assessment, or coaching certification

  • Familiarity with talent-related technologies and tools such as Workday, Cornerstone, LinkedIn Learning), able to partner effectively with HR Tech and Ops to scale talent practices.

  • Global mindset with cross cultural frequency bringing a nuanced understanding of how to adapt talent strategies across geographies regulatory environments and cultures.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $168,300 - $227,200 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
