Service | Quality | Knowledge

The Seed Sales Specialist works in collaboration with the Sr. VP of Sales and/or the Sr. VP of Production to serve customers purchasing native seed and erosion control products from the company.

Sales Activities

* Work up bids and pricing under the guidance of Senior Sales Staff for seed and erosion control materials.

* Consult with customers and agencies on seed mix designs

* Over time, take on a book of business as determined by Senior Sales Staff

* Take customer calls and emails directly as needed and assist with pricing orders and consulting.

* Support Senior Sales Staff in the development and maintenance of special contracts

* Assist with developing and implementing competitive bidding procedures

* Help Senior Sales Staff and the admin team in executing and maintaining efficient order processing procedures

* Assist the Senior Sales Staff in efforts associated with inventory management

* Process customer orders and follow through with warehouse manager on any specific needs of the customer

Marketing & Business Development

* Assist Senior Sales Staff in promoting the usage and benefits of native seed the market with key influencers in government agencies and NGOs

* Help Senior Sales Staff promote the Company's ability to produce unique local ecotype seed

* Work closely with the Senior Sales Staff to develop a comprehensive marketing program including trade events, speaking engagements, marketing materials, etc.

Working Conditions:

While this is an office position, please note that you will be required to work near an environment containing dust and other plant related debris. People with asthma or known allergens to grasses, pollen, etc. should not apply.

Required Education/Experience

* Knowledge of native plants throughout the Great Basin and surrounding ecological areas of the Western US.

* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

* Consummate team player and customer service experience

* Strong command of Microsoft Office

Required undergraduate/graduate degrees:

* Environmental Sciences & Management

* Ecological Management & Restoration

* Rangeland Sciences

* Wildlife Conservation

* Agronomy

* Plant Sciences

* Other related degree

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus but not required:

* Turf Industry (Golf courses, sod farms, Landscaping)

* Government agencies such as NRCS, BLM, USFS, Fish & Wildlife, etc.

* Commercial projects such as mine and landfill reclamation, wetlands restoration or wildlife conservation

Compensation details: 69000-75000 Yearly Salary
