Skidmore College is accepting applications for an on-call (per diem) Registered Nurse (RN) in our Health Services department.
Works in collaboration with the Director of Health Services, other health care providers and community resources to provide comprehensive health care to the students of Skidmore College. Minimum of one day per week required.
Qualifications:
The per diem Registered Nurse assesses the physical and emotional status of students of Skidmore College. Offers appropriate therapeutic treatment within the guidelines of care set forth in Health Services' protocol and within the scope of their practice. Performs patient triage, including phone triage, and clinic flow management and documents within Electronic Health Record. Involvement in and support of programs by Health Services, Health Promotion, Residential Life, Counseling, Athletics, Academics, Campus Safety, and other areas of Student Affairs as requested and appropriate. Attendance of continuing education programs to maintain currency of nursing knowledge base. Well-developed interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to think and work independently yet collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks; Strong clinical skills with excellent clinical assessment abilities; Flexibility; Computer proficiency; Commitment to understanding and addressing inequities in health care.
Requirements:
RN - Licensed as a Registered Professional nurse in NYS
Education:
Experience with and understanding of the college-aged population. 1-2 year minimum as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a university/college health service.
