
East Stroudsburg University is hiring an Assistant Vice President for Facility Operations and Management!Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESUs proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. As the Assistant Vice President for Facility Operations and Management, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable serving as the senior leader for the stewardship, maintenance, and strategic advancement of ESUs physical plant. You will be an active member of the Business Office team and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to diligently collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external agencies foreffective project execution.You will thrive in this role if you like combining your business administration backgroundand extensive facilities management experience all while ensuring campus facilities continually improve through effective asset management.To be successful in this role, you must possess proven expertise in strategic planning, extensive progressive supervisory experience, and a comprehensive working knowledge offacilities management project administration.
Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, but you may have to flex your schedule to work from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Assistant Vice President for Facility Operations and Management. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Develop and implement strategic, financial, and operational plans for campus facilities in alignment with the universitys goals and strategic plan.
- Lead the creation, execution, and continuous improvement of the Campus Master Plan, integrating academic, residential, and infrastructure priorities into a comprehensive planning document.
- Oversee the maintenance of facilities, custodial services, utilities, shipping and receiving, postal services, and grounds management.
Construction & Capital Project Management
- Manage all phases of capital projects, renovations, and major infrastructure improvements, from planning through completion.
- Serve as the primary liaison with PASSHEs Construction Support Office and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and design standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver quality, on-time, and cost-effective projects.
Financial & Budgetary Oversight
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic resource allocation.
- Support financial modeling and reporting for capital investments, deferred maintenance, and infrastructure enhancements.
Campus & External Engagement
- Serve as the universitys principal liaison for facilities matters, maintaining strong relationships with university leadership, academic departments, and external agencies.
- Engage the campus community in planning efforts to ensure facilities meet academic, research, student life, and accessibility needs.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
- Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- At least eight years of progressive experience in facilities management, with a minimum of five years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven expertise in strategic planning, financial management, and operations oversight.
- In-depth knowledge of capital construction, procurement, regulatory compliance, and building systems.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel independently, including overnight.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
- Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in a related discipline.
- Experience in higher education facilities leadership.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) construction and procurement policies.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Educational Facilities Professional - CEFP, or Certified Facility Manager CFM).
- Experience managing or contributing to a campus master plan and facility condition assessments.
