We are seeking a Data Engineer to work with various clients at our delivery center in Guadalajara, MX. Our mission at Apex Systems is providing Insights that Inspire. As a Data Engineer you will help achieve that mission by giving our clients consultative guidance and technical expertise.
Overview: The Data Org: is horizontal, supporting all other technology and business applications across the enterprise from data perspective. Working with 'people data' HR data coming out of Workday and they have APIs that connect to Workday, creating confluent Kafka topics for subscribers, and AWS Glue pipelines that ingest data into Redshift for Tableau, Business Objects, and PowerBI reporting. The goal is to understand the existing processes, identify any inefficiencies and improvements in the data movements, build of net new and scalable solutions to incorporate new data driven by business reporting needs, and managing the existing Kafka topics/clusters and pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Beginning with an assessment of existing processes and data movements.
Need to refactor existing solutions if they are not scalable, build new workflows and screens in Kafka, creating new pipelines as well as managing existing.
•Potentially leveraging Lambdas (part of the discovery)
•Need a background in ETL (AWS Glue preferred, but can have broader ETL background)
•Need deep understanding of the data relationships and models, referential integrity, will need to understand the data types and structures that they're consuming, how they're aggregating it, how the tables are set up and being created, etc.
•Lead will need to serve as POC and liaison with the client, ensuring all communication goes to the team, understanding and tracking the deliverables and requirements alignment, but needs to be hands-on.
Requirements:
•AWS (S3, Redshift)
•ETL (AWS Glue Preferred)
•Confluent Kafka (will take Apache Kakfa and upskill)
•Python OR Java
•Tableau is a nice to have
