SOFTWARE DEV ENGINEER
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to provide first-level support and development for all incoming production software application issues related to merchandising applications. Your solutions will directly impact our customers! This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that directly affect customer experiences. It provides a chance to expand coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications. The Customer Service Experience team values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. The team is dedicated to enhancing customer satisfaction through robust and reliable software solutions.
Terms:
- 7-month contract (possible extension)
- On-site, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
- Possible OT, as needed
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Solutions: Develop and implement monitoring solutions to ensure application performance.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify, troubleshoot, and debug issues in internally developed code (Perl, C/C++, Java).
- SQL Queries: Perform SQL queries to manage and retrieve data.
- Metrics Improvement: Enhance systems that gather metrics on our features.
- Technical Challenges: Update, track, and resolve technical challenges.
- Collaboration: Work alongside development teams on corporate and divisional software projects.
- Software Enhancement: Update and enhance existing software applications.
- Automation: Automate support processes to improve efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of systems and processes.
- Interaction: Engage with developers and other technical staff to ensure seamless integration and functionality of software applications.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in software development.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Perl, C/C++, and/or Java. Familiarity with Mason, Perl CGI, Oracle SQL, HTML, UNIX/Linux.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail.
- Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure.
