Job Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s technology infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems and networks. This role involves configuring, securing, and maintaining computer systems, servers, networks, and other technology resources to ensure they run efficiently. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will troubleshoot technical issues, implement best practices for security and efficiency, and take a proactive approach to maintaining and improving IT operations. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to system integrity and performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software.
  • Setting up hardware such as servers, networking equipment, and storage solutions.
  • Administering and maintaining servers (both physical and virtual), including file servers, application servers, and print servers.
  • Proficient understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Managing network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implementing and managing backup systems to protect data.
  • Ensuring disaster recovery plans are in place, and regularly testing those plans.
  • Monitoring system performance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, or network issues that arise.
  • Using monitoring tools to track server health, uptime, and resource utilization.
  • Keeping records of system configurations, changes, and updates.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience of 3-5 yrs. as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and server roles, hardware, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and SaaS solutions.
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with networking, firewall configurations, VPNs, vLANs, and security tools (Cisco, Meraki)
  • Solid understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel upon business needs.
  • Driving record that meets company policy
