Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Microsoft 365 & Exchange Systems Engineer)
(this position is hybrid working 2 days a week in current location of Denton Texas and new location in Legacy West in Plano Tx starting Mid Fall 2025)

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint environments. This role also requires solid experience in managing Wintel and Unix systems, VMware virtualization, and Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT systems that support core organizational functions.
Responsibilities
Administer and manage Microsoft 365 platform including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and other related services.
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises Exchange environments, including hybrid configurations.
Administer and manage SharePoint Online sites, site collections, permissions, and content structure
Collaborate with business units to design, develop, and maintain document libraries, workflows, and automation using Power Automate and SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
Migrate content from legacy SharePoint environments or file shares to SharePoint Online using tools like SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT)
Perform system administration tasks across Wintel (Windows Server) and Unix/Linux platforms.
Administer and support virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere.
Manage cloud infrastructure services and resources in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, Active Directory, networking, and storage.
Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for patch management, upgrades, incident resolution, and disaster recovery planning.
Support operational efficiency through automation using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
Provide tier 3 technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Preferred
5+ years of experience in Microsoft Exchange and M365 administration.
Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, site provisioning, and permissions model.
Knowledge of SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Apps, and custom solutions deployment.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server (Wintel) and Unix/Linux operating systems.
Proficient in VMware vSphere administration and management.
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services including VMs, networking, and Azure Active Directory.
Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
Understanding of ITIL processes and change management.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MS-102, MS-203, AZ-104).
VMware VCP Certification.
Experience with hybrid Exchange deployments and mail migrations.
Experience with SharePoint hybrid configurations or migration projects.
Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and on-prem environments.
Exposure to monitoring tools and endpoint management solutions.

Working conditions & physical requirements
This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the Corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary; however, occasional travel to company locations may be required. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
