Job Description:
The Platform Architect is a technical leader who defines and communicates, at an architectural and design level, technical solutions aligned with business problems and systems/platform architecture. They collaborate closely with the Service Delivery team, Architecture Community and Application/Product teams to ensure that business needs are understood, assessed, and translated into feasible, effective technological solutions. The Platform Architect documents the overall platform design, oversees platform health, provides guidance to technical governance and helps to analyze the impact of new requirements. The role also provides direction on keeping efforts aligned to ServiceNow implementation best practices and gives hands-on assistance with the detailed design and implementation phases of engagements through recommendations, points of view and documentation.
• Oversees, specializes and provides advice across the ServiceNow platform and ITIL practices including ITSM and ITOM
• Acts as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, product teams, and development teams, providing recommendations and influencing decision-making processes for IT solutions and business processes and capabilities (HR, supply chain, vendor mgmt.).
• Maintains expert knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, products, capabilities and ecosystem
• Designs and collaborates with Business Process Analysts and Developers in the creation of a High-Level Solution Design Document
• Provides technical leadership and guidance to ensure that proposed architecture is implemented accurately
• Ensures technical governance and policies are being adhered to and establishes them where gaps exist
• Creates and maintains a Technical Implementation Roadmap. Provides hands on assistance with the detailed design and implementation approach of selected projects
• Partners with ITAM, other Service Delivery teams, business partners, IT Architecture, eCommerce and global teams
• Partners in the planning, adoption and deployment of AI-related ServiceNow capabilities including GenAI, AIOps including Health Log Analytics and Predictive capabilities (ops, analytics).
• Ensures that key ITIL practices and ServiceNow implementation focus on delivering real business value and outcomes
• Creates documentation of integration processes, solutions and design decisions for future reference and use by other engineers.
• Stays informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system integration, using this knowledge to enhance your skills and contribute to the teams success
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Technical field and/or Business related field
• Equivalent trainings/certifications/experience equivalency will be considered
• 5 or more years of equivalent experience in relevant job or field of technology
• 3 or more years of experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model
• *The role has both a broad and deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture and technology across the core platform and modules as well as a full understanding of ITIL (ITSM, ITOM) processes and practices.
• ServiceNow Architect certification(s), primarily Certified Technical Architect with Certified Implementation Specialty in ITSM as well as Certified Application Developer
• Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills
• Experience in an advanced role or technical capacity, providing technical leadership directly or indirectly
• Takes on mid to large projects from start to finish and works independently on these efforts with minimal direction required
• Experience with ServiceNow development and architecture including data structure, CMDB, creating workflows, process automation, scripting, and Flow designer.
• Experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Cloud provisioning.
• Problem-solving skills, with a focus on learning to deliver high-quality, reliable, and efficient solutions
• Strong leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced training and or certifications in relevant field/s of study
• Strong experience with an AIOps platform (ServiceNow)
• Knowledge of IT Security, especially as it applies to ServiceNow in a complex IT environment
• Additional appropriate ServiceNow certifications
• ITIL Certification Foundations v.4
• Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT developments
• Experience in retail or grocery preferred
