





About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Control Management Officer to play a pivotal role in transforming how we manage technology controls across the enterprise. In this high-visibility role within our Technology Risk and Control Management team, you’ll lead the charge in designing and implementing a next-generation control framework—one that’s automated, data-driven, and aligned with the latest industry standards. Your work will directly influence how we identify, assess, and monitor technology risks, ensuring our systems and data remain secure in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. What You’ll Do:
Lead control modernization efforts by developing a cutting-edge framework that leverages automation and analytics.
Design and implement industry-aligned controls that meet regulatory requirements and reflect best practices.
Collaborate across the enterprise, partnering with technology leaders, business units, and compliance teams to embed a strong, data-informed risk culture.
Drive strategic initiatives that enhance our ability to proactively manage and mitigate technology risks.

In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex and highly integrated business specific risk across different business lines
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex current and emerging risks requiring in depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, as well as good understanding of financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, and business process management
Engage with all levels of roles across the business group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and control framework that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements
Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate high inherent risks with broad impact primarily around Key Risk Indicators (KRI) for Operational Risks.
Develop and implement data driven and automated risk and control monitoring including risk reporting processes and continuous control evaluations.
Highly analytical in nature with eye for detail for any kind of data analysis.
Advisor to embedding controls within technology platforms, providing out-of-the-box control coverage.
Collaborate with and influence key stakeholders including senior managers
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Risk Management or Financial Services Industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Technology Migration Leadership – Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale technology migration initiatives effectively.
Generative AI & Risk Expertise – Experience with Generative AI technologies and providing risk management support.
Cross-Functional Project Leadership – Proven leadership and project management capabilities to align cross-functional stakeholders and deliver consistent, end-to-end risk management solutions and controls.
Operational Risk Knowledge – Strong understanding of operational risk management and/or operations process management.
Regulatory Compliance Insight – Knowledge of U.S. banking regulatory requirements and the ability to apply domain expertise to enhance processes and support the line of defense structure.
Quality Assurance & Controls – Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies, issue verification frameworks, and experience in audit, issue oversight, or internal controls assessment.
Financial Services Compliance – In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations, compliance standards, policies, procedures, and operational processes.
Matrixed Environment Experience – Experience working in a matrixed organizational structure with the ability to build and manage effective relationships.
Modern Risk Practices – Familiarity with modern, automated, and data-driven risk and control practices.
Ethical Risk Escalation – High ethical standards with a demonstrated ability to identify risks, escalate issues early, and engage in constructive challenge independently.
Executive Influence & Negotiation – Strong influencing, partnering, and negotiation skills with senior business leaders to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.
Change Management & Execution – Ability to lead organizational change, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Microsoft Office Proficiency – Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Executive Presentation Skills – Ability to develop and deliver high-quality presentations for executive-level audiences.
Senior-Level Communication – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00Benefits
