Role

The FI Data Solutions team is looking for a motivated Senior Data engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the operational and analytical capability in FI. This role will part of a larger chapter which is focused on delivering a modernized data analytics platform. This role will contribute to a Fidelity enterprise level initiative to build a Master Data Management platform. The work involves building batch and near real time pipelines, data modeling, and other Master Data solutions to implement robust data collection and processing pipelines to meet specific business needs by collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop MDM strategies.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and a proven foundation in data analysis and engineering
• 8+ years of experience in database design and development using Oracle or Snowflake or NoSQL databases
• Strong expertise in SQL is a must
• 3+ years of proven experience at programming in languages like Python
• Extensive experience with ETL technologies for reporting and analytics solutions
• 3+ years of proven experience using AWS services like S3, EC2, Lambda, CFT
• 3+ years of strong experience in Snowflake
• Familiarity and good understanding of Data Models - relational and dimension models is required
• Preferred experience implementing data management platforms for MDM, such as Reltio
• Preferred to have Java application development using Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Deploying applications in DevOps environment
• Ability to data-mine and troubleshoot issues and propose effective solutions
• Interact effectively with business partners to understand business requirements and assist in generation of technical requirements
• Participate in architecture, technical design, and product implementation discussions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Must be able to communicate effectively to the tech lead, team members and the squad/ chapter lead
• Should possess the ability to understand the business concepts and relate it to the technical solutions
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environment

• Provide long-term solutions for the foundational Data and Analytics platform
• Be able to recognize technology trends in the cloud space and assist in adopting fresh solutions
• Working closely with clients, business analysts and software engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications
• Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs
