Description
Position at PrecoaSenior Actuarial Analyst
Lead Strategic Projects with Executive Visibility
You're a problem solver at heart-analytical, independent, and energized by a blank whiteboard. You see complexity as a challenge to be embraced, not avoided. And when given an open-ended question, you don't just answer it- you shape the next generation of how it's done.
At Precoa, we're on a mission to enrich lives through meaningful funeral planning, and we know great strategy starts with sharp minds and bold thinking. As our Senior Actuarial Analyst, you'll turn models into movement-driving pricing, risk, and product development decisions with precision and purpose.
You'll be trusted with high-level ownership and will collaborate directly with insurance partner executives , the VP of Product Development and our President to influence business-critical outcomes.
What you'll do (and why you'll love doing it )
You'll work closely with leaders across Precoa's Strategy and Product Development teams in a role that offers both depth and discovery. With exposure to the highest levels of decision-making, you'll navigate ambiguity with confidence, stepping into projects that go beyond traditional actuarial work.
- Own complex pricing and risk projects : You'll define scope, build models, validate results and drive business decisions from end to end.
- Transform analysis into strategy : Forecast key assumptions like mortality and lapse and distill findings into insights leaders can act on.
- Advance new product offerings : Work with executive leaders to bring bold ideas to life, from concept through performance analysis.
- Build smarter processes : Standardize documentation, introduce version control, and foster a learning culture rooted in curiosity and craftsmanship.
What we offer you as part of # PrecoaLife
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Hybrid flexibility: work remotely or from our office
- 18 days PTO and 10 paid holidays annually
- 6 + weeks paid parental leave
- Health, Dental, and Vision benefits
- 401k, with company match
- $ 25 ,000 AD & D Policy and $ 25 ,000 Life Insurance Policy
What will make you successful
- 5 + years in actuarial or financial modeling, or a standout academic background with meaningful exam progress (ASA/FSA track preferred)
- Advanced technical skills in Excel, SQL, Python and functional Tableau knowledge (Slope Software is a plus)
- Strong grasp of time value of money, IRR/NPV, and forecasting frameworks - bonus points for experience with stochastic modeling and risk margins
- Proven ability to translate data into executive-level storytelling and influence
- A self-directed mindset with a knack for navigating unstructured challenges and making sense of ambiguity
