In Vivo Scientist 2079034
Location: South San Francisco, CA (onsite)
Focus: Stealth
Job Overview: Join our clients’ preclinical research team as an In Vivo Scientist, leading hands-on rodent studies with expertise in surgical techniques, compound dosing, and pharmacological testing of novel therapeutics.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Independently conceive, plan, and execute complex in vivo experiments aligned with research objectives.
- Strategize, design, execute, and analyze in vivo studies evaluating novel therapeutic candidates.
- Safely handle and restrain mice and rats in accordance with ethical research standards and IACUC protocols.
- Administer treatments with proficiency via intranasal, intrathecal, intravenous, and subcutaneous routes.
- Perform EMG (electromyography) surgical implantation in mice, including peri-operative care and monitoring.
- Prepare and measure peptide and small-molecule formulations, including dilution and sterile technique.
- Accurately record all experimental details, animal health information, and study results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support study design and interpret experimental findings.
- Ensure all procedures are in strict compliance with institutional, federal, and ethical research guidelines.
Primary Job Requirements:
- PhD in Biological Sciences, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of direct in vivo experience, preferably with both mice and rats.
- Proven skills in multiple administration routes: intranasal, intrathecal, intravenous, and subcutaneous.
- Strong track record of independently leading rodent studies and executing surgical procedures.
- Proficiency in EMG implantation surgeries and post-op care.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
