REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience and Expertise: o Proven experience in implementing and managing data warehouse solutions, particularly with MS SQL Server. o Demonstrated ability to handle data integration using SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). 2023-1 RFP - Agency Solicitation Specifications Page 3 of 9 Revised 1/6/2023 2. Technical Capabilities: o Proficiency in setting up and configuring data warehouse structures and reporting databases. o Ability to build and deploy SSIS jobs for data migration from PeopleSoft to the new reporting database. 3. Project Management: o Experience managing similar data infrastructure projects, including timelines, deliverables, and milestones. o Capability to work collaboratively within a higher education environment and other partners to meet project goals and deadlines. 4. Data Governance and Quality: o Knowledge in implementing data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards. o Ability to improve data quality and capture processes. 5. Training and Support: o Provide all of the documentation and training related to the project so that RIC staff members can provide the on-going support. 6. Compliance and Security: o Understanding of data security and compliance requirements relevant to educational institutions and state reporting

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop SSIS integration in a higher education environment to enable our new reporting database to deliver both live and static data. Some static data has been loaded but will need to be refreshed. o These are frozen views used for reporting purposes like enrollment head count and degrees awarded. o Also needed are periodic (sometimes daily) refreshes of existing tables from PeopleSoft (student information system). o There are currently 12 to 15 tables containing biodemographic data, enrollment data and admissions data. o There are no existing custom scripts or workflows in PeopleSoft that will need to be integrated or replaced during the SSIS development process. * Design and implement SSIS jobs for transferring data from PeopleSoft to the reporting database. * Ensure timely and reliable data transfers on a daily to weekly basis, handling file volumes from a few thousand to tens of thousands of rows with high performance, scalability, and data integrity. * Ensure the SSIS integration partner provides knowledge transfer and documentation to the relevant ITS staff, equipping them to maintain the integration in the future. The documentation should be detailed enough to allow ITS staff to be able to pull additional tables from PeopleSoft and continue to develop/modify the SSIS integrations as needed.
