


Our client, a global supplier of life science tools and mission-critical products and services, is looking for a freelance Digital Content Strategist with strong eCommerce expertise (ideally within life sciences/pharma or technical products), to join their team for ongoing support.
This opportunity will be fully remote for 6+ months, 40hrs/week working east coast hours 8-5pm. The ideal candidate will have experience in eCommerce merchandising, digital content strategy and optimization, and an understanding of how scientific buyers shop and search for lab supplies online.
Responsibilities:
- Join a small but growing new marketing team focused on Laboratory Solutions and improving product discoverability, conversion, and content experience across the company's digital platforms
- Enhance Product Detail Pages (PDPs): Improve content quality (titles, descriptions, imagery, attributes) for priority SKUs to support SEO, engagement, and conversion
- Optimize Category & Workflow Pages: Develop and refine landing pages for product categories and scientific workflows to improve navigation, educate customers, and drive product affinity
- Improve Site Taxonomy & Navigation: Refine category structures, filters, and product attributes to align with customer search behavior and purchasing workflows
- Execute Digital Merchandising Strategies: Support seasonal and category campaigns by managing site banners, product spotlights, and featured product carousels in alignment with business priorities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Portfolio Management, Strategic Marketing, eCommerce, and Downstream Marketing teams to ensure cohesive and relevant content across digital touchpoints
- Analyze & Report Performance: Monitor page-level performance metrics (CTR, bounce rate, conversion) and identify areas for ongoing optimization
- Support Content Upload & Governance: Maintain accuracy and consistency of product and category content using PIM and CMS tools
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in digital content strategy, eCommerce merchandising and/or digital content management
- BA/BS degrees in Marketing or Life Sciences with marketing experience
- Experience in B2B eCommerce; familiarity with scientific, life science, or industrial product categories
- Proficient in product content optimization, taxonomy development, and digital asset management
- Familiar with PIM, CMS, and basic SEO best practices; experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large product catalogs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working across multiple teams
- Excited to be one of the first new hires on this team and make an impact with measurable results
