We are looking for a Demand Planner for our global retail client for a 2-month engagement starting in early June.  As a Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of product availability, ensuring consumers have access to the gear they need, when they need it. Your expertise in forecasting and market analysis will directly impact product decisions, optimize inventory levels, and ultimately enhance the consumer experience. Be a key player in driving growth and innovation within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with Global, Product/Merchandising, Finance, Strategy, and Long Range Planning teams, contributing to assortment depth and flow recommendations.
  • Utilize industry-standard planning tools, including Ladder Plans (Open to Buy), Line Plan Architecture, and Assortment plans.
  • Forecast and update product demand two years out, recommending adjustments based on market trends and data analysis.
  • Present forecast updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, explaining the rationale behind changes and their impact on consumer product forecasts.
  • Collaborate with global teams to understand diverse market landscapes and incorporate those insights into future demand planning.
  • Navigate a matrix of internal partners, making data-driven decisions based on collective expertise and strategic business priorities.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience using planning tools.
  • Understanding of Retail Metrics (Sales, Inventory, Sell-thru, Weeks of Supply, Trend-based forecasting, revenue and margin impacts on line planning structure), and the ability to manipulate data for scenario planning purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven understanding of end-to-end planning.
  • Passion for and understanding of consumer and retail trends.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, particularly in VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in the athletic or retail industry.
  • Background in merchandising, ordering, or product management.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35.39 to $39.33 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
