

Wastewater Collections Supervisor – Job Summary
The Supervisor of Collections System will oversee all of the wastewater collection system in the Pollution Control Department and supervise the work of the field staff in collections. This position involves responsibility for ensuring that pump stations and collection lines in the wastewater treatment network are operating efficiently and properly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify inflow and infiltration problems, improper connections, hazardous or extraordinary circumstances that may interfere with wastewater treatment process, and take appropriate actions to remedy the situation
- Inspects pumping stations, pipelines, manholes, valves, machinery, pumps and equipment to determine efficient operating conditions
- Supervise staff assigned to work on the wastewater collection lines; provide training and instruction to all staff in preventative maintenance and repair of pump stations, pipelines, mains, and all other machinery and equipment
- Make repairs to wastewater pumping stations pipelines, manholes and other elements of the wastewater collection system
- Collects water samples for laboratory analysis
- Operates heavy and light automotive equipment
- All other related duties, tasks and responsibilities in managing a wastewater collection system
Requirements:
- NJDEP C-2 Collection System License
- Five years of experience preferred in operating a combination Jet/Vac Truck
- Two years’ experience as a wastewater collection system Supervisor or Crew Leader
- CDL Class B with Tanker Endorsement
- Experience with Grese Trap Inspection Program
- Experience with Operation and Maintenance of Collection System televising equipment
- Good written and oral communication skills
