Apex Systems is hiring an Sr. Project Manager to join a growing client in Lakewood, CO.
Location: Lakewood, CO (4 days onsite per week required)
Duration: 6 month contract to start, with a strong potential for extensions and/or perm conversion
Are you a dynamic communicator with a passion for driving clarity out of complexity? Our client is looking for an experienced Intake of Business Project Manager to join their growing IT PMO and become the go-to bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution teams.
This role is tailored for a strategic project manager who thrives in an ever-changing environment and is energized by problem-solving, scoping new ideas, and guiding initiatives from idea to execution readiness.
What You’ll Own:
- Manage and enhance the end-to-end intake of business process—from request to assignment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into structured, actionable requests.
- Lead and facilitate intake review sessions with PMO and IT leaders, ensuring requests align with enterprise goals.
- Develop intake documentation: business cases, project charters, impact assessments, and more.
- Guide early-phase project scoping: support timeline, budget, and resource estimation.
- Partner with leadership to streamline contracting needs: NDAs, SOWs, MSAs—you’ll know what’s needed and who needs to be involved.
- Maintain dashboards and reports that make project intake visible and trackable.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to help the team scale more efficiently.
What Sets You Apart:
- 7+ years in project management or PMO environments, ideally in IT or software.
- High EQ - can connect with individuals within the company and communicate well with stakeholders – this is the highest priority.
- Experience managing software implementation projects
- You shine in stakeholder interactions and can communicate across departments—from operations to compliance to executives.
- A fast learner with a knack for understanding how organizations function and how software fits into the bigger picture.
- Skilled with tools like Jira, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or SharePoint.
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent requests, staying organized, and handling changing priorities with grace.
- Bonus points for PMP certification
The compensation for this position depending on experience is between $65-69/hr.
