This role, based in Colorado Springs, CO, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, track battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that provides an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally to boost performance. Additionally, C2BMC is an essential part of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
Applicants will be expected to provide technical expertise in the area of MDS modeling and simulation integration, characterization, and/or analysis. As part of an Agile Scrum team, the applicant will develop and complete features and stories mapped to program objectives.
Essential Functions:
• Plan and carry out assessment characterization on C2BMC and its interactions with current and planned MDS assets
• Document analysis results in reports and briefings
• Present analysis results to various audiences; develop requirements for complex system models, simulations, and testing or analysis tools
• Execute, test, and evaluate large-scale MDS-level models and simulations; develop, test, and assess threat scenarios
Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics) or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of relevant work experience; or a STEM Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs are required
• Applicants must have a solid engineering background that encompasses a variety of disciplines, supporting the integration and assessment of missile defense models into a federated architecture
• Performance analysis and characterization of large-scale complex system simulations, including ballistic missile threats, weapon systems, command and control, RF sensors, and IR sensors
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of OSM and VACSSim models is preferred
• Working or theoretical knowledge of ballistic and non-ballistic missile defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communications systems, and the Missile Defense System (MDS) in general
• Strong background in math and physics
• Experience using MATLAB to support the analysis of complex data
• Familiarity with:
• Unix/Linux
• Agile Scrum
• Continuous integration
• Specific knowledge of one or more MDS elements, such as:
• C2BMC
• AN/TPY-2
• LRDR
• BOA
• SBIRS
• GMD
• Aegis BMD
• PATRIOT
• Experience with scenario generation is a plus
• Experience with reading/ writing Java is a plus

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
