Position: Sr Network Engineer
Pay Rate: $61/hr (W2)
Location: Torrance, CA (5-days on-site)
Contract duration: 12-months
Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Infrastructure Specialist will architect, deploy, sustain, and enhance the implementation of our client’s existing and advanced technological platforms. You will collaborate within a systems engineering group tasked with crafting resilient, adaptable, and dependable network frameworks that align with organizational goals and service level agreements. This position involves creating, establishing, and guaranteeing the robustness and reliability of the equipment supporting the data communication network essential for client-delivered services, while promoting ongoing enhancements through leading industry standards. This role entails strategizing, constructing, and expanding local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs) throughout the enterprise. The individual will operate both autonomously and as part of a team to plan, install, oversee, upkeep, assist, and refine all network-related hardware, software, and connectivity solutions. This person will also diagnose and address hardware and software network issues promptly and effectively.
- Architect, build, and evaluate network solutions that fulfill product development plans and client contractual obligations.
- Establish, execute, and update guidelines, protocols, and procedures for network management, usage, and disaster recovery, emphasizing continuous progress.
- Engage with suppliers, external partners, and contractors to acquire network goods and services.
- Observe network efficiency, identify problems, and execute required fixes as needed.
- Set up networks to ensure consistent performance and accessibility to support business goals and workflows.
- Oversee network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN concentrators, along with their associated software and accessories.
- Manage network asset tracking, including keeping an updated inventory of components and associated technical documentation.

- Tasks may be adjusted or assigned as necessary to address business demands.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year institution; or relevant certifications combined with practical experience and/or education; or an equivalent blend of learning and background.
- Over a decade of advancing expertise in networking and security, encompassing VPNs, enterprise routing, and L3-7 switching. Proficiency with Monitoring Platforms (Orion, Vcenter), Networking Gear (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.), Servers (Rac, Blade), Hyper-V, VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server, Storage Solutions (NetApp, EMC, HP, etc.), Ceph, Active Directory. Experience with AWS cloud is a plus.
- Five or more years in enterprise network architecture and deployment.
- Five or more years with firewall and switch technologies.
- Five or more years designing and implementing Quality of Service (QoS).
- Familiarity with LINUX-based operating systems.
- Background in Software as a Service (SaaS) product settings.
- Demonstrated capacity to make sound independent decisions and act accordingly.
- Proven track record with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN architecture and execution.
- Established expertise in network capacity forecasting, security fundamentals, and best practices in network administration.
- Solid, practical understanding of network hardware and operating systems, including routers, switches, Fortinet firewalls and switches, and VPN concentrators.
- Strong knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including IPv6.
- Ability to research networking challenges and products as needed.
- Skill in explaining complex technical concepts in accessible language.
- Highly self-driven with a keen eye for detail.
- Adept at analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks effectively in demanding situations.
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Support experience with diagnostic tools, network analyzers, line testers, and reporting utilities.
- Competence with testing methods and tools for data connections.
- Readiness to travel to client locations, both within the country and abroad.
- Availability for on-call duties as required.
