



This position will report to the West Point HRSD Operations Center located at 310 Industrial Pkwy, West Point, Virginia, 23181, with occasional travel to the Eastern Shore and Surry work centers during business hours. The current work schedule is Monday-Thursday, from 6:00AM to 4:30PM. This schedule may change depending on work center needs and overtime may be required at times.
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for: a. Coordinating with SCD Staff and Asset Management group. b. Maintaining standardization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules where applicable. c. This position will report to the West Point Operation Center however will require periodic travel throughout all SCD service areas (Middle Peninsula, Eastern Shore, and Surry County) d. Developing preventive maintenance procedures and schedules for SCD equipment and ensures preventive maintenance is being performed on the correct frequencies for the work center and maintains asset equipment information. Job Requirements: a. Education 1. Required a) High School Diploma or GED b) Formal Maintenance Trade or Technical Program, Journeyman Card, HRSD Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience/training. 2. Desired Associates degree in Science and/or related engineering field b. Experience 1. Required a) Four (4) years of maintenance or relevant experience in association with the above mentioned required education, or 8 years of experience in identifying mechanical maintenance deficiencies and recommending corrective actions on the following types of equipment: pumps, motors, centrifuges, incinerators, bars and screens. b) Demonstrated experience using a preventative maintenance or CMMS system c) High computer competency and able to use multiple databases and programs d) Experience working with teams 2. Desired a) Operation and maintenance experience within the wastewater industry b) Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes c) Proven experience in successfully working with teams c. Training Levels This position is fully qualified at Grade 6, with experience & education as noted above. For those persons less qualified, the following training levels have been established Grade 6a - Four (4) years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience (or appropriately related field) and Completion of 24 trade-required apprenticeship courses and 75% on-the-job training skills, of HRSD’s Maintenance Operator, System Operator, or Interceptor Technician Apprenticeship Program or approved equivalent Grade 6b - Four (4) years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience (or appropriately related field) and completion of 16 trade-required apprenticeship courses, and 50% on-the-job training skills of HRSD’s Maintenance Operator, System Operator, or Interceptor Technician Apprenticeship Program or approved equivalent d. Job-specific Technical Competencies Required a) Must have good knowledge of operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment a) Ability to develop highly effective working relationships with all HRSD employees b) Must be able to exert initiative in administrative and technical problem solving c) Must be able to organize and direct planned maintenance program. e. Special Licenses 1. Required a) Driver’s License from state of residence 2.
