Job Description:
The (Aerospace, Defense, Government Business Unit) Customer Centric Solutions Team is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on custom engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard Products. The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with customers, sales personnel, engineering teams, alliance partners, and contract manufacturers to define, document, design, deploy and sustain NI products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large scale turnkey engineering solutions. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding products and system level design.
Core Job Responsibilities:
This is a multi-functional role dealing with diverse engineering needs, including the ability to gather requirements, generate specification documents, and interface with alliance partners, contract manufacturers and internal personnel to design, deploy and sustain custom solutions worldwide. This is a high visibility role within NI requiring daily interaction with customers, Alliance Partners, Sales Teams, Engineering Teams, and Executive Management.
The role will include:
Interacting with a wide variety of customers, staff, external alliance partners and suppliers in support of designing, implementing, and sustaining of custom solutions
Minimum Requirements:
* B. S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering Technology
* Minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience in a Hardware Systems Design Role or a Test Engineering Design Role
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architectures
* Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#)
* Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
o Sources of measurement error
o Appropriate selection of instrumentation and equipment
o Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
o Integration of hardware and software
o Bill of Materials creation and review
o Familiarity with CAD and PCB design tools
o Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
Preferred Skills:
o Hands on use of schematic capture tools and PCB design tools
o Knowledge in Component Supplier Selection
o Knowledge in Compliance Certifications (CE, UL, TUV, Etc.)
o Hands on use of NI Hardware Platforms and Instruments
o Hands on use of NI LabVIEW and Test Stan

Shift: 1st
Pay range: $74.07/hr. - $92.59/hr.
