


The Assistant Director for ERC & Satellite Facilities will develop and administer a varied and comprehensive recreation program for the Eppley Recreation Center (ERC) and selected activity spaces in the School of Public Health Building, ensuring the efficient and safe management of physical spaces. The incumbent will support departmental and divisional goals by overseeing and providing direction to north campus facility staff, including building an engaging student staff workforce. This position is responsible for managing the daily operation and maintenance of the ERC and RecWell satellite facility operations within Cole Fieldhouse, Golf Course Clubhouse and Range Building, Regents Garage, and Severn Fitness Center; collaborating on facility enhancements and projects; and providing support for structured programs and special events. This position will oversee two full-time employees.
A breakdown of responsibilities include: Facility Management and Daily Operations (40%), Project Management (20%), Personnel Management (20%), Event Management (10%), and other related duties (10%). Some night and weekends required.

Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Seven (7) years of work experience managing multipurpose recreation facilities.
- Two (2) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff. Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of varied and comprehensive recreational programs.
- Knowledge of best practices in facility operations; scheduling and maintenance.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
Preferred
- Master's Degree.
- Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross CPR for the Professional rescuer/AED/First Aid certification
- Possess (or ability to obtain within 3 months of start date) and maintain American Red Cross Instructor Certification Experience working in a collegiate or community recreation environment.
- Experience in staff training and development.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
- Experience using a wide range of software systems such as: Assetworks, Avigilon, Fusion member management system, Lenel, When2Work, Workday.
