How to Apply

The review process will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should send a CV and letter of interest to Emily Fredericks, PhD, Director, Division of Pediatric Psychology ([email protected]).

Job Summary

The Division of Pediatric Psychology at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, University of Michigan Health invites applications for a faculty appointment (open rank) within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan (UM) Medical School. The University of Michigan is in Ann Arbor, a vibrant and diverse community consistently rated as one of the best places to live in the United States

We are seeking a pediatric psychologist to join our Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) program to provide behavioral health services to youth in our General Pediatrics clinics.  Michigan Medicine has 9 General Pediatrics clinics and delivers primary care services to over 50,000 children in southeast Michigan. Psychologists in IBH engage in behavioral assessment and treatment techniques for common developmental and behavioral problems encountered by children, adolescents, and their families. These problems include, but are not limited to, noncompliance, tantrums, ADHD, disruptive school behavior, adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, habit disorders, enuresis, encopresis, academic problems, pain and stress related disorders as well as sleep issues. IBH Psychologists work closely with physicians and staff in the primary care pediatric setting.

The administrative home of the successful candidate would be the Division of Pediatric Psychology, which is comprised of 25 faculty who are fully integrated into pediatric subspecialty areas, and have close and supportive working relationships with both community pediatricians and hospital-based physician specialists.  Supervision and training for pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellows, interns, advanced practicum students, pediatric house officers, and medical students is expected.  This position is largely clinical in nature, but opportunities will be available to establish a program of research/scholarly activity that aligns with the overall objectives and activities of the Division of Pediatric Psychology and the Department of Pediatrics.

Required Qualifications*

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree from an APA/CPA-accredited program and internship, postdoctoral training in pediatric psychology, and be licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in the state of Michigan. Specific clinical training and skills in treating pediatric behavioral health concerns collaboratively with primary care pediatricians is essential. Experience with virtual care/telehealth is also highly desired. Faculty rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Modes of Work

Underfill Statement
