Job Summary:

The General Liability Claims Specialist is responsible for overseeing the administration of designated TPA for General Liability and Automobile claims ("Liability") which includes reporting, investigating, reserving, subrogation, and litigation as related to such claims.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversees liability claim management and works closely with TPA to be sure desired claim handling and reserving practice are being followed. Reviews and monitors reserves and payments for any trends.
• Oversees litigated and complex claims, including limited settlement authority. Coordinates with in-house paralegals and Legal department for litigation discovery, and strategy
• Coordinates internally as appropriate for accident reporting, video capture and investigation we well as defense counsel assignment, if necessary, for protected initial investigation..
• Coordinates with excess carriers on appropriate files
• Review claims for evidence of questionable compensability and assists in investigating potentially fraudulent/questionable claims. Creates and develops relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties
• Special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
• 4+ years relevant experience
• Demonstrates proven analytical, problem solving and investigative skills.
• Demonstrates proven understanding of appropriate negotiation skills.

• Sound judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government (Federal and State) law.
