Job Description:
Senior Network Engineer – Operational Technology (OT)
- Location: San Antonio, TX
- Contract duration: 12+ months
- Project: OT Network Modernization Initiative
About the Role:
- We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design and support of secure, scalable network infrastructure for a major initiative focused on modernizing Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- This role requires a strong foundation in enterprise networking, a solid understanding of OT systems, and the ability to ensure high availability and security of industrial networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead network design and implementation, focusing on segmentation, documentation, and secure connectivity.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and serve as the escalation point for complex network issues.
- Support OT environments with technologies like SCADA systems, PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus).
- Ensure secure wireless communications that are isolated from the internet.
- Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise-level infrastructure, including routing, switching, and firewall rule analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and document network configurations.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Networking:
- Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, and other standard routing protocols
- Experience with basic route/switch work
- Familiarity with firewall rules and network segmentation
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA NextGen, F5 load balancers, and large-scale network environments
