Infrastructure Engineer
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Infrastructure Engineer with experience designing, building, and maintaining IT infrastructure to place at our client, a top Canadian Bank
Client: A top Canadian Bank
Terms: 12 months, with opportunity to extend
Location Hybrid- 1-day onsite- Downtown

Primary Responsibilities:
· Proven experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems
· Proficiency in Bash scripting and PowerShell scripting for automation tasks
· Solid understanding of file transfer protocols (FTP, SFTP, etc.) and SSH/SSL technologies
· A self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
· Develop and manager Ansible playbooks, roles and workflows for configuration management and automation.
· Collaborative spirit and a passion for teamwork
· Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
· Prior exposure to IT monitoring tools like HP OVO, SCOM, or SiteScope
· Experience using scheduling tools such as AutoSys
· Familiarity with secure file transfer products like Secure Transport
· Ability to write Ruby scripts for automation
· Experience with PHP scripting and diagnostics
· Knowledge of HP ALM or other QA tools
· Understanding of database concepts (SQL, etc.)
· Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Chef
Responsibilities
· Design, deploy, and maintain servers, network devices, and storage solutions
· Implement and configure operating systems and applications
· Automate tasks using scripting languages to improve efficiency
· Configure and manage user accounts and access controls
· Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative measures
· Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems efficiently
· Collaborate with other IT professionals and business units to ensure alignment with business goals
· Stay up-to-date on the latest IT trends and technologies
