This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of footwear through trend-forward color palettes and compelling narratives.
As a Color Designer, you will be a key player in the product creation process, collaborating with designers, developers, and product managers to bring innovative concepts to life. Your expertise in color theory, material application, and emerging trends will be essential in crafting color stories that resonate with consumers and elevate the brand’s aesthetic.
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop trend-relevant, narrative-driven color concepts for footwear, focusing on both product and collection levels.
  • Drive product excellence by seamlessly integrating design, development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct research and analyze consumer insights to stay ahead of color trends, fashion, art, design, and sports-related products.
  • Collaborate with designers and Design Directors to create color palettes and ensure alignment with category color strategies.
  • Establish blocking strategies and develop compelling color journeys that balance essential elements with distinctive color stories.
  • Provide color design support to the design team as needed, extending beyond assigned product load.
  • Oversee product color details, review samples, troubleshoot achievability issues, and communicate changes effectively to ensure timely project completion.
  • Partner with developers and manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of color designs.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of color technology and its application to various materials, dyes, and finishes.

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent education, experience, or training.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a design environment working with footwear color, materials, textiles, and/or color trends.
  • Proficiency in establishing blocking strategies and developing cohesive color journeys.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of color technology and its practical application.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Keynote on a Mac Platform.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with product development and coordination with multiple partners.
  • Understanding of the footwear product creation process.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $42.03 to $46.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.About Aquent Talent:
