Job Title: Cyber Security Analyst II

Client: Federal or State Entity

Location: Austin, TX 78744

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Onsite only)

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (with possible extension or FTE conversion)

Start Date: Targeting End of July

Pay Rate: $60–$80 per hour (W2) – Depending on Experience

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Analyst II to join its Information Security team. This role involves planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures in alignment with the NIST Risk Management Framework and Texas-specific security standards. The ideal candidate will be a local Austin resident with a strong background in state or federal security environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct security assessments and reviews of account permissions, data access needs, and programming changes.
• Support the implementation of security plans in collaboration with agency personnel and external vendors.
• Develop strategies to safeguard system configurations and data files from unauthorized access or modification.
• Monitor and maintain systems to ensure data integrity and security.
• Research and implement procedures for the prevention, detection, and correction of data breaches.
• Assist in the design and deployment of security applications and infrastructure.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 4–7 years in information security, particularly in federal or state environments.
• Framework Knowledge: Proficiency with NIST RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, PCI-DSS, and Texas Information Security Standards.
• Residency Requirement: Candidates must be local to Austin, TX. Relocation is not permitted.
