Position Overview:  We're hiring for a Help Desk Specialist Level III to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA.  In this position you'll become part of a technically diverse team to include but not limited to other Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals.  Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Agency which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.   


Position Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose computer errors and provide technical support
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware and network issues
  • Train end-users how to setup and use new technologies
  • Backup and restore an organization's data files and systems
  • Install, configure and upgrade PC software and operating systems
  • Clean and repair computer hardware, such as keyboards and printers
  • Tier I and II duties. IT help desk technicians provide technical support over the phone or web

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting software and hardware in a customer service role; 3+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Prefer candidates with an associate degree with an emphasis on Information Technology such as Network Administration; High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prefer candidates with certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+

Security Qualifications:

  • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
