Join us as a Financial Data Analyst, where you’ll support the evaluation and assessment of financial assets to help ensure our financial statements reflect the economic reality of credit-related risk. In this collaborative role, you’ll partner with teams across finance, risk, and other regulatory functions, while developing valuable skills in IFRS 9, provisioning analytics, and credit quality reporting. To be successful as a Data Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field

  • Interest or experience in credit risk or financial reporting

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Exposure to coding or tools such as Python, SQL, or SAS is preferred but not required

  • Clear communication, curiosity, and an ability to execute tasks across teams

  • Familiarity with IFRS 9, Basel III, CCAR and loan loss provisioning is helpful

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is located in New York.

Minimum Salary: $85,000

Maximum Salary: $105,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To evaluate and assess the potential impairment of financial assets, ensuring that the bank's financial statements accurately reflect the economic value of its assets.

Accountabilities

  • Identification of potential impairment triggers, analysis of relevant financial and non-financial information to assess the potential for impairment of financial assets, and application of quantitative and qualitative impairment tests to determine whether an asset is considered impaired.
  • Assessment of the impairment loss for an asset by identification of the right valuation method, assessment of its fair value, and documentation of the process.
  • Calculation of the impairment provision to reflect the impairment loss and prepare clear and accurate impairment disclosures for financial statements.
  • Management of the performance of impaired assets and reassessment of their impairment status on a regular basis. .

  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
