



Overview
The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in the maintenance and management of building systems and infrastructure. They are responsible for ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently and safely. This position often involves a combination of technical expertise and managerial skills, with responsibilities ranging from overseeing maintenance to implementing improvements that enhance functionality and sustainability. Facilities Engineers work in a variety of settings and the position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety. This position is responsible for start-up of equipment, preventive maintenance, equipment change-overs, equipment/building repairs, basic/routine facility maintenance while following all safety measures. Assist manager and oversee the maintenance team. Lead projects, schedule repairs and maintenance to adhere to manufacturing schedule. Help with scheduling including time and labor. Update and create drawings or charts to adhere and contribute to matrix.
Responsibilities

- Manage and lead maintenance team during projects, new roll outs or procedures. Assist the Facilities Manager as required.
- Design, implement, and manage facility upgrades and renovations
- Supervise routine maintenance and repairs of building systems
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and operational expenses
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized tasks
- Monitor and evaluate building systems for performance and efficiency
- Prepare reports on facility operations and maintenance activities
- Conduct facility inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions
- Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs
- Ensure proper functioning of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Plan and oversee facility layout alterations and modifications
- Respond to emergency situations involving facility infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and facility modifications
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional certification in Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA)
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with CAD software and facilities design
- Proficiency in energy management and conservation techniques
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word and be able to navigate ERP, CMMS, websites and systems with ease. Type 40-60 WPM. Intermediate CAD or Solid Works proficiency.
Specialized Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Work Instructions.
Certificates and Licenses: Technical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing training and/or certifications required.
Physical ability: Needs to be able to stand for 8 hours a day, kneel, bend down, crawl, climb, lay down for work duties. Be able to carry up to 75 lbs. Wear required PPE.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $85,000-120,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
