*WEDC is a Wisconsin-based organization, with a remote-work first environment. Remote work is intended to be performed in the State of Wisconsin.
Position Summary
The PowerUp Wisconsin Manager will support WEDC’s role in implementing its income-qualified distributed energy initiative, PowerUp. This position plays a key role in advancing our mission to improve access to affordable energy for low- and moderate-income households across the state, as WEDC works to build an Economy for All.
This is a project-based, benefits-eligible role with a term not to exceed forty-eight (48) months.
Responsibilities
The PowerUp Manager will spend a majority of their time in these activities:
- Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery within allocated resources.
- Collaborate with program implementer to identify opportunities for PowerUp expansion and improvement.
- Collaborate with the Productivity and Sustainability team and the program implementer to establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to support program goals and objectives.
- Monitor PowerUp performance and evaluate outcomes to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain documentation, reports, and other materials to support PowerUp monitoring and reporting requirements.
- Engage with team members with a high level of trust, commitment, and accountability toward our common goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to solar energy.
- Represent the organization at meetings, events, and conferences to promote the Solar for All program and build strategic partnerships.
- Support WEDC’s mission through the fulfillment of other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, environmental science, engineering, sustainable technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in economic development, clean energy policy, grant management, project management or a combination thereof.
- Experience with residential solar, federal grants, working with EPA, and working for the benefit of low-income residents.
- Relevant work experience developing and managing complex, multi-partner, and/or cross-sector programs is preferred.
- Experience tracking field productivity estimate vs. actual, and implementing corrective actions to maintain project goals and budget parameters.
Skills and Talents:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong ability to solve complex problems and follow through with developed solutions.
- Interest or experience in clean energy, climate change, environmental justice, social impact work, sustainability, economic development, equity, and a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with MS Office, and project management platforms.
Other Requirements:
- State-wide travel will occur on an occasional basis, less than 20% of the time. Travel is anticipated to include day and overnight travel.
- Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
