For the expansion of our Global Market Access Team, argenx is looking for a Market Access Pipeline Director.
PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
It is an exciting time of growth for argenx as we strive to achieve our VISION 2030. Vision 2030 is our long-term commitment to transform the treatment of autoimmune diseases by strengthening its leadership in neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) biology, investing in its continuous pipeline of differentiated antibody candidates, and scaling in a disciplined way to ensure innovation remains core to the argenx mission. ‘Vision 2030’ includes the following goals: 50,000 patients globally on treatment with an argenx medicine, 10 labeled indications across all approved assets, including VYVGART and potentially empasiprubart and ARGX-119 and five new molecules in Phase 3 development.
The Market Access Pipeline Director will be responsible for the leading strategic access for one or more indications currently in the pipeline. The argenx Global Market Access team works across all countries, including US, Developed Markets and Japan, and in close collaboration with other functions and with local country teams.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines early market access potential, pricing and strategy for pipeline indications and assets including indication sequencing, TPP, and TPL
Work with Indication Development Teams (IDTs) to optimize trial designs so they reflect payer requirements, by incorporating feedback and needs from regional Access
Coordinate Early Scientific Advice from key HTA Agencies and conduct gap analyses with external consultants
Work with Indication Commercial Teams (ICTs) to align Access and Commercial positioning, pricing and strategy
Assess unmet need, outline payer value proposition, assess P&R / HTA landscape and product outlook
Inform development of global pricing strategy and policy
Test payer value messages, pricing expectations, and value proposition via Advisory Boards and research with payers / HTA
Develop core value dossier and objection handler
Develop innovative access strategies on a global and regional level incl. early access, and evaluate implications for launch (go, no-go risk mitigation and scenario planning)
Build out and validate contracting options and G2N assumptions
Partner with HEOR and Regional Access to optimize the evidence generation plan, identify epidemiology and the unmet medical need
Inform the development of health economic and outcomes analyses (CEA, BIA, burden of disease, etc.) required for access, working in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams
Facilitate launch readiness workshops with regional and local Market Access and other functions
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Have experience and deep understanding of payer needs, decision-making approaches, strategies, and country reimbursement stakeholders and influencers in US and/or key EU markets
Experience in developing global and regional pricing and market access strategies and research
Experience working with clinical development teams
Experience working within launch and commercialization teams for therapies in the orphan and rare disease space
Experience effectively managing external agency partners, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and internal/external stakeholders to effectively implement strategies and programs
Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities under pressure
Ability to grasp highly technical concepts and to work within a deeply scientific environment; Exceptional learning agility, demonstrated by advancement in prior roles/companies
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks
Demonstrated communication skills, within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment
Is agile and demonstrates adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, trust-building, and resilience

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
7+ years of relevant industry experience in biotech/pharma.
5+ years Market Access & Pricing experience specifically involving specialty drug launches in US or Europe
Advanced graduate level training in the natural sciences, medicine, business, engineering, or finance required Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Economics, Life Sciences, or a related field. Ph.D. or MBA preferred.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
Strategic and critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity and succinctly articulate complex problems and possible solutions
