At Grand Hyatt DFW, we are committed to excellence in service, hospitality, and financial integrity. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join our Finance team. This position plays a key role in supporting the Director of Finance in managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Hyatt policies, and maintaining a high standard of internal controls.
The Chief Accountant will oversee general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing processes. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is analytical, collaborative, and ready to contribute to the continued success of a world-class airport hotel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Finance in all aspects of hotel accounting and financial operations
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, AR, AP, income audit, and cashiering
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with Hyatt standards and GAAP
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including financial reporting and variance analysis
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular account reconciliation and investigation of discrepancies
- Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and support operational efficiency
- Collaborate with operational departments to ensure proper cost controls and accurate expense tracking
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and processes meet compliance standards
- Train and support junior finance team members, helping to foster professional development and accuracy in reporting
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes as needed

Qualifications
· Degree in Hospitality or Accounting preferred
· 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (hotel experience a plus)
· Proficiency in Excel, Word, and financial systems (Opera, PMS, MICROS, ADP, Dimensions)
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Proactive, independent, and adaptable mindset
· High attention to detail and ability to multitask
· Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
