Cloud Architect - AWS
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join our team, specializing in application architecture for one of our services projects at a financial client. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in AWS architecture at an enterprise level, and ideally some understanding of FinOps platforms such as Apptio. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions to support a FinOps Solution Assessment and Roadmap build, while collaborating with multiple enterprise technology groups.
Location: Downtown Toronto, could be 3-4 days/month in office
Contract: 3-months to start (can extend 12-additional months)

Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Cloud Solutions: Architect scalable, secure, and robust FinOps cloud solution to support Wealth Management line of business
- Application Architecture: Develop and maintain application architecture that aligns with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- FinOps Integration: Utilize FinOps enterprise platforms like Apptio to understand wealth management KPIs and architecture to manage cloud costs and optimize financial operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, IT, finance, security, and data teams to integrate cloud solutions effectively.
- Cloud Architecture Team: Ensure cloud solutions align with the overall cloud architecture strategy and best practices. Coordinate resource provisioning and provide technical guidance.
- Finance Team: Monitor and optimize cloud/currency upgrades/performance spending, assist in budget planning, and generate financial reports on cloud expenditure and savings.
- Security Team: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, conduct risk assessments, and develop incident response plans.
- Data Team: Integrate cloud solutions with existing data infrastructure, collaborate on data governance policies, and support data analytics initiatives.
