Objectives of this Role:
- Serve as overall project leader for small- to medium-sized projects and lead specific tasks of larger project work scopes for all engine-based Diesel Aftertreatment Accelerated Aging Cycles (DAAAC) programs conducted at SwRI (as outlined in the CFR for sections * 1065.1131-1145).
- Requires knowledge of in-field data acquisition, processing and analysis in order to assist in creating appropriate on-engine or burner accelerated aging cycles for diesel aftertreatment systems.
- Responsible for program planning, customer interface, directing activities of technical staff on these programs and overall project conduct (technical, financial and scheduling).
- Requires interfacing with engine and aftertreatment system control modules and calibrations to ensure appropriate operation (across various engine manufacturer platforms).
- Prepare bids and promotional efforts as well as proposal presentations in the area of engine and aftertreatment accelerated aging.

Requirements:
- Requires a Masters degree or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have three years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Research Engineer.
- The 3 years of experience must include experience with mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; diesel engine specific aftertreatment systems and accelerated aging of said components; emission measurement devices; engine test cells.
- The 3 years of experience must include experience with data collection and analysis of moderate size datasets; involvement with engine and aftertreatment durability programs, as well as development programs, alternative fuels; complying with regulatory requirements for specific types of engine emission testing
- The 3 years of experience must include experience with engine control module interface across multiple platforms including CUTY, INCA, VISION, DevX, and CanApe; and data acquisition systems, including National Instruments.
- Must travel 10% domestically and internationally.
