The Team

We are seeking a Computer Aided Drafting (“CAD”) Tech to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Engineering team. The team maintains the safety and longevity of the Company’s towers and ensures high-level compliance with industry standards. Day to day you will perform CAD for the development of new products and for research and process improvements. As a CAD Tech, you will partner cross-functionally to help determine objectives and requirements for new programs associated with diverse CAD services.

What You Can Offer Us

• Operate AutoCAD at an advanced skill level and with an expert-level understanding of national and Company standards.   
• Guide, lead, train, and support coworkers providing CAD services.   
• Lead the development of standards and guidelines for CAD services used throughout the department. Develop and implement quality control procedures.   
• Develop and maintain a library of standard and typical CAD details.   
• Resolve technical matters pertaining to all CAD services. Perform detailed QA/QC of CAD products.   
• Provide technical leadership when new CAD software, major upgrades, and equipment are being selected.   
• Stay up to date on technical methods and developments in CAD services.   
• Other duties as assigned.   

What You Need to Succeed

• Associate degree in a related field required.
• A minimum of 6 years of AutoCAD experience, including a minimum of 2 years with AutoCAD 2012 or higher required. 
• Telecommunications industry or CAD-based engineering experience required.
• Working experience with the national CAD Standard preferred.
• Working knowledge of Advance Steel, SolidWorks, or Revit preferred.
• Approximately 10% travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
