JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Control Analyst (PCA) II serves as a key financial leader across their industry, ensuring project execution aligns with business objectives, profitability targets, and compliance standards. This role goes beyond merely analysis—providing strategic financial guidance, driving operational efficiencies, and influencing decision-making across the industry. The PCA II partners closely with project managers, cross-functional teams, and senior industry leadership to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks that impact revenue and cash flow. Reporting to the Director of Project Control in Finance Operations, this is a critical role in shaping financial strategies across the project lifecycle in the industry.

• Bid and Proposal Support
  • Support pricing team and proposal managers in financial requirements evaluation and compliance
  • Identify financial risks associated with project execution and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Highlight potential impacts to profitability associated with those risks
• Advanced Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Lead and oversee multi-project budget tracking and forecasting initiatives across industry to ensure accuracy and financial alignment
  • Monitor performance throughout the project lifecycle and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate deviations/issues.
• Financial Reporting & Presentation
  • Prepare, analyze, and deliver comprehensive financial reports on project status, risks, and opportunities
  • Effectively communicate financial insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders as needed.
• Industry Reporting
  • Support Industry lead in delivery on fiscal revenue and margin goals
  • Leveraging existing reporting, analyze industry data to provide actionable insights on risks/opportunities.
• Variance and Root Cause Analysis
  • Analyze differences between actual project/account costs and budgeted amounts.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial variances at the industry level, identifying systemic risks and opportunities
  • Drive strategic corrective actions to enhance overall portfolio performance.
• Risk Management
  • Proactively assess and escalate financial risks, ensuring compliance with company policies (e.g., WAR) and contractual terms
  • Work collaboratively with project managers to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Champion risk mitigation strategies, ensuring financial and contractual compliance across portfolios.
• Process Improvement
  • Drive operational efficiency by identifying and implementing enhancements to financial tracking tools and reporting
  • Lead initiatives as requires streamlining business processes and reduce manual effort.
• Data-Driven Financial Analysis/Leadership
  • Leveraging advanced analytical methods, extract meaningful insights, uncover trends, and support strategic project and industry decisions
  • Provide proactive and actionable analysis to optimize financial performance across projects and industry.
• Data Integrity
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data by performing regular audits, reconciliations, and validations
  • Identify discrepancies and work collaboratively with various teams including Project Accounting to resolve issues.
• Technology Utilization
  • Leverage accounting and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) to extract, transform, and visualize financial data effectively as needed.
  • Expand the use of advanced financial tools to drive innovation in financial visualization techniques.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree required, Finance or Accounting preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in project control, financial analysis, or project management
• Strong Problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Experience in financial management of large, more complex projects, of varying contract types
• Expertise in forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
• Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
• Comfort presenting financial recommendations to senior stakeholders and driving outcomes
