As a Product Line Owner, you will be responsible for driving the architecture and implementation of Tracking and Detection algorithms for terrestrial and space-based platforms. A critical responsibility of this role is championing the creation of an Algorithm Product and the business case to justify continuous investment over many years. The specific needs of many stakeholders will need to be balanced against available budget and the future business strategy.

What You'll Do:

• Algorithmic Vision and Strategy: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to inform the tracking and detection algorithm vision and strategy.
• Team Leadership: Lead and manage a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and developers to design, develop, and deliver the tracking and detection algorithm.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to team members to ensure their growth and development.
• Budget Management: Manage the budget to ensure effective resource allocation and ROI.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure project delivery within budget.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including customers, program managers and teams, to ensure that the algorithm meets customer needs and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Negotiate and manage stakeholder expectations to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Algorithm Development: Lead the development of the tracking and detection algorithm, including:
  • Object detection and tracking: Develop and optimize algorithms for detecting and tracking objects in space, including satellites, debris, and other celestial bodies.
  • Image processing: Design and implement image processing techniques to enhance the quality and accuracy of the data from the trackers, including:
    • Noise reduction and filtering
    • Image enhancement and restoration
    • Feature extraction and object recognition
  • Signal processing: Design and implement signal processing techniques to enhance the detection and tracking of objects
  • Machine learning: Apply machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the tracking and detection algorithm.
  • Performance optimization: Optimize the algorithm for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Trade Studies and Analysis: Define, execute, and report on trade studies that provide data-driven insights to inform algorithm development decisions.
• Metrics and Evaluation: Develop and track key metrics to evaluate algorithm performance and mission utility.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
• May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
• May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 10 or more years related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Solid technical background in areas such as image processing, signal processing, machine learning, and algorithm development.
• Proven leadership or management experience with cross-functional teams.
• Experience developing and executing strategic plans, manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including customers, program managers, and technical teams.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define, execute, and report on trade studies, analyze data, and drive data-driven insights to inform algorithm development decisions and drive continuous improvement.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Active TS/SCI.
• Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing and applying algorithms for object detection and tracking, image processing, signal processing, and machine learning.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing cross-functional teams in relevant business environments.
• Experience managing large budgets and making financial decisions.
• Superb presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision-making and technical audiences.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
