The Pro Bono Senior Coordinator will support the Pro Bono Director and Pro Bono Manager in the execution and implementation of the Firm’s Pro Bono Program. The Senior Coordinator will assist with administrative functions, data tracking, program coordination, and logistical support for pro bono initiatives across the Firm.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Coordinate administrative, organizational and tracking functions of the pro bono program.

  • Plan and coordinate logistics for firm-wide pro bono events and trainings.

  • Collaborate across departments and with external partners to support program success.

Administration
  • Assist with advertising pro bono opportunities to attorneys and connecting attorneys to referral organizations.

  • Maintain accurate and organized tracking systems for pro bono opportunities and certain assignments.

  • Assisting with pro bono intake/new matter creation process.

  • Compile data related to pro bono activities at the direction of Director of Pro Bono and assist with generating reports for internal review and external reporting requirements.

  • Assist with maintaining pro bono  forms, such as template engagement and closing letters, pro bono matter intake instructions, and pro bono best practices.  

  • Assist Director of Pro Bono with transition of pro bono matters of departing attorneys.

Program and Event Coordination
  • Provide logistical support for pro bono trainings, workshops, and clinics under the guidance of the Director of Pro Bono or Manager.

  • Coordinate with legal service organizations to facilitate pro bono projects, under the direction of the Director of Pro Bono or Manager.

  • Assist with pro bono orientation sessions for summer associates, incoming associates, and lateral attorneys.

Pro Bono Substantive Practice
  • Provide paralegal support to pro bono matters as needed, particularly adoptions in Southern California and immigration matters Firm wide.

  • Assist with interpretation/translation needs for new and existing matters.

External Relations
  • Participate in access to justice initiatives developed by, or in partnership with, the legal services community.

  • Assist with providing content  for communications department, business development, and talent recruitment materials under the direction of the Director of Pro Bono or Manager.

General Support
  • Provide administrative support to the Pro Bono Manager or Director of Pro Bono as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operation of the pro bono program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience or (2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree). Demonstrated interest and commitment to pro bono work

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) required

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, client-service orientation, and ability to interface professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, and external partners

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor

  • Strong team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve department and firm goals

  • Self-starter who is deadline driven, with an excellent work ethic and a positive, proactive style

  • Fluency in a second language required, Spanish highly preferred

  • Paralegal Certificate preferred

  • Ability to travel between offices if needed.

  • Prior experience in a law firm environment preferred but not required.

The base annual pay range for this role is between $75,000-$85,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity.  A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
