Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a summer camp counselor to lead weekly theme-based camp activities for children ages 5 through 8. This temporary position begins early June and ends August 2025.

Essential Duties

- Leads summer camp activities for children ages 5 through 8
- Creates and manages an environment conducive to the learning and safety of children enrolled in the camp
- Supervises summer camp personnel
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
-
- Associate degree in child development, elementary education or a related field or two years of educational or related course work
- Two years of related work experience (four years of additional related work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement)
- Computer, organizational and human relations skills
- Valid CPR and first aid certifications
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents and staff
- Ability to participate in all camp activities including swimming and bicycling
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds
- Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor's degree and Microsoft Office experience

This is a temporary position that does not include benefits. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with a one hour lunch. The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.82 per hour but could reach $25.51 per hour depending on education and experience.
