Position Summary & Overall Purpose:
Lenox Advisors is redefining what it means to serve clients with integrity, depth, and purpose. As we continue our evolution into a planning-first, fee-based advisory firm, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as SVP, Financial Planning.
This high-impact role sits at the forefront of our strategy—shaping how we deliver holistic advice across both wealth management and insurance planning. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in estate, tax, and business succession planning, along with a proven ability to coach advisors, drive practice growth, and champion planning as the core of client relationships.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Fee-Based Planning Strategy
- Lead Lenox’s transformation to a fee-based financial planning model in alignment with MMLIS and MassMutual compliance standards.
- Build scalable infrastructure—tools, talent, and training—to support a planning-first experience.
- Elevate financial planning as a core deliverable that drives client trust and advisor success.
Advanced Planning Support
- Serve as the internal expert for advanced estate, business, and tax planning.
- Partner with advisors on custom case design and scenario modeling for high-net-worth clients.
- Integrate planning, protection, and portfolio strategy into holistic advice.
Advisor Development
- Design and lead firmwide financial planning education and credentialing programs (CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, etc.).
- Coach advisors at every career stage on building balanced practices spanning insurance and investments.
- Establish benchmarks for planning proficiency and professional growth.
Enterprise Collaboration
- Align with Lenox leadership to embed planning into strategic business development.
- Act as liaison to MassMutual, NFP, and Aon to integrate enterprise-level tax, legal, and product expertise.
- Represent Lenox as a thought leader at conferences, internal summits, and client events.
Technology & Innovation
- Evaluate and implement planning technology platforms to enhance advisor productivity and client engagement.
- Drive continuous feedback and refinement of planning processes across all markets.
JOB COMPETENCIES: (knowledge, experience, skills & abilities and behaviors/attitudes)
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Expert in financial planning for business owners, executives, and multigenerational families.
- Skilled educator and communicator with a passion for advisor enablement.
- Experienced in both protection-based and investment planning strategies.
- Comfortable navigating MassMutual platforms (MOSAIC, A360, ENV3, etc.).
- Strategic thinker with a track record of leading change and scaling initiatives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree required; JD, CPA, or advanced degree in tax/estate planning strongly preferred.
- 10+ years in financial planning, advanced markets, or wealth advisory leadership.
- FINRA Series 7/24 preferred; advanced insurance licensing experience required.

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
