Classified Advertising Specialist/ Obituary Clerk The Berkshire Eagle is looking for a Classified/Obituary Advertising Specialist to join our team. This position is based in our Pittsfield, MA, office, and we are willing to train the right individual. Seeking a self-starter with telephone sales experience. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. We offer a competitive base with commission opportunities. Key responsibilities include: Obituary intake: Receiving obituary information from Memoriams software, funeral homes and families, verifying details, and ensuring compliance with publication guidelines for The Berkshire Eagle & Vermont News & Media publications. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Funeral Homes, providing excellent customer service Copy editing: Proofreading obituary text for grammar, accuracy, and style. Layout and formatting: Placing obituaries within the designated publication layout according to specifications. Classified ad management & Data Entry: Taking classified ad orders in person, by phone or email. Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service to our internal and external customers. Address customer requests, cancellations, or corrections with efficiency and warmth, making each interaction a positive experience. Billing and collections: Generating invoices for classified ads and managing payment collection. Inbound & Outbound telephone sales- Proactive efforts are essential to help drive revenue in our Classified Department.
